Take one of our latest brand activations for Ottawa’s newest Mark Motors Porsche, for example. To introduce the city to its new state-of-the-art facility, the dealership enlisted Amanda Julia Events to plan a grand opening gala, where clients, associates, and car enthusiasts alike were invited to experience the epitome of automotive excellence. The event featured an elegant cocktail reception, live music and DJs, and gourmet food, creating an atmosphere of sophistication and exclusivity.

To add to the aura of luxury, the client recruited MDRN Activations to create a premium branded experience for guests. With years of skin in the game, the client gave us free rein to plan and execute the perfect activation. We wanted to make sure we positioned ourselves in a way that highlighted the venue, the vintage Porsche cars on display, the LCD screen backdrop, and a branded backdrop, all while enhancing the high-end Porsche ambiance.

With these elements in mind, a traditional photo booth just wasn’t going to cut it. Instead, we opted for a 360 video booth in landscape format to allow us to capture as much of the environment as possible—all 360 degrees of it, in fact. This setup is not only highly shareable but also provides a more cinematic experience for guests.

We prioritized ensuring high video quality so guests would be inclined to share their video results. For activations like this one, onsite editing is often necessary. Due to the challenges posed by using an LCD screen, we had to ensure the video results weren't overexposed while making sure everything else was exposed correctly—no easy feat. To achieve this, we created a custom profile specific to the activation site, resulting in high-quality video content too irresistible not to share.
