5 Proven ways to create measurable engagement at your next Virtual Holiday event!

5 Proven ways to create measurable engagement at your next Virtual Holiday event!

So you’re hosting a Virtual Holiday event! Now what? 🤔 I mean, you could simply start the event and hope that everyone has fun. Or, you could add a virtual photo booth to your Holiday event, which gets people excited, creates an engaging experience and guarantees that everyone has a good time! 💃

It’s new, we know, and that’s why we’ve taken the guesswork out of it! Here are 5 proven ways to create measurable engagement at your next virtual holiday event.

#1 Set an action - give guests a reason to use the Virtual Photo Booth, you know, other than taking a simple photo.

When you give your guests something to do, they tend to get more excited to use the Virtual Photo Booth. Try these out the next time you’re hosting a virtual event.

Option A: Show something off! 😊

Give guests the option to show off those ugly Holiday sweaters. Maybe post a photo of them holding their fav holiday mug, or how about a photo of them and their pet? Check out the samples below from our animated holiday virtual booth or try it out yourself here.

Based on the multiple events we’ve done in the past, we’ve found that this creates the most interaction in the virtual booth. You don’t have to limit it to just one - try various options throughout the event to keep guests energized and wanting more.

Option B: The Scavenger Hunt 👀

Host a scavenger hunt! Take engagement a step further by giving your guests a list of items they need to find around their homes. We suggest choosing 4-5 items that are easily accessible in any home and ask your guests to take individual pictures with each of the items to build that engagement.

Here are some ideas for you: The Quarantine Kit, which includes a mask, hand sanitizer and any household cleaner. Oh, and we can’t forget the inevitable toilet paper, because what’s quarantine without TP? Let’s be real we all loathe this current situation in the world but think about how it will be years from now. When you look back at the company’s virtual event, with all the laughs, people having fun in their homes, perfectly encapsulating all of us trying to make the best out of these times.

We tried this one out for ourselves and had so much fun with it! Check out the live gallery here

#2 Add a prize. Everyone loves prizes! 🎁

The prize portion of the night was always the best part of any corporate holiday party and you can still make that happen with a virtual event. We can even help distribute those gifts in a couple of different ways.

The scratch card prize! At the end of each virtual booth experience, guests are presented with a virtual scratch card, revealing a monetary prize for them. Plus, the number of winners is up to you! We suggest either giving a prize every hour, or per number of captures. For example, after every 10th photo, someone wins a prize. 🎉

The best photo prize! Give out prizes for the best photo taken. For example, if you’re hosting a scavenger hunt, people are taking multiple pictures of their items, so why not give them a prize for the best image? Be prepared to see some goofy stuff - toilet paper on the head, pretending to clean a doorknob, silly faces with a mask - that one might be hard to see. 🤣

#3 - Innovate that 2020 Team Photo.

Compile all of the photos taken in the virtual booth into an animated digital mosaic. This is a great way to bring photos together into a fun mosaic image and we can even make it into an interactive video. During your virtual event, we can live stream the mosaic being built and even add animation in the process.

The final video will be exported and sent over by our team shortly after the event, which can easily be shared with your staff. You will also receive a JPEG version of your final mosaic image aka Team Photo 2020!

#4 - Virtual Santa Visits with the kids!

Don’t forget about those kid’s parties. We used to do a lot of company parties where all the families brought the little ones in for a fun filled day and a visit with Santa. Now it’s virtual! 💻

We’ve teamed up with Santa this year to allow families to take a photo with Santa in our Virtual Photo Booth and each family gets a personal zoom meeting with Santa himself. Included in this package is a fully branded booking portal to schedule each meeting and collect all the information Santa needs. Alternatively, Santa also offers storytime where he reads a classic holiday book to the kids. 🎅 He will be broadcasting live from the North Pole, aka the set we built in our Kanata Studio.

P.S., this is actually our set and our Santa!

#5 - Bonus!! Party In A Box

You can now personalize the party for all your guests! We’ve partnered with Ottawa Popup Events to bring you Party In A Box. I know. We can’t contain the excitement either!! Get it? Because it’s a box? 🤣

There are many boxes you get to choose from! If you’re looking for some Zen time then check out their Zen AF box, if you’re more of a tea lover then check out their ParTEA box. What about creating a 70’s spa party with their SKINSational Disco box? These are just a few of their themed boxes but they even have a holiday party in a box too! With each box you receive a curated list of songs ready to put you in the partying mood.

Looking to customize? YUP! They can do that too! Contact them on their website here.

Virtual photo booths are more than just taking a photo. With these proven steps we know your next virtual party will be full of engagement and a gallery with tones of photos. 💁‍♀️
